Remember that episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation where the crew was obsessed with a game where you had to get a ball into a cup using just your mind? Well now, science fiction is a reality with MindFlex, by Mattel. As strange as it may be to believe, the future is now with this game where you actually move a ball with your mind.
MindFlex
Fortunately, this item is not a veiled mind control device like the one featured on the show. It is, however, an engaging game that can be enjoyed by the whole family. As soon as you open the box, you’ll feel like you’ve been transplanted into the future, as you don a headset that is designed to actually read your brain waves. Once the headset is in place, your goal is to actually levitate a ball through an obstacle course on the game board using only your mind (with a little help from a fan located within the game console).
Playing MindFlex
Mindflex can be enjoyed by people of all ages, and needs only the headset, game console, foam balls (four included) and batteries (four “C” batteries for the console and three “AAA” batteries for the headset) to play. You do not need any particular level of intelligence to play, only an ability to focus and concentrate. Once the novelty of moving things with your mind wears off, you have five different game courses to choose from. One to four players can compete and the game comes with a variety of difficulty settings.
