Sony has revealed its answer to Nintendo Wii at the Game Developers Conference, San Francisco. The Sony Move controller looks similar to the Nintendo Wii controller, it just has a colored ball at the top.
Gamers at the Conference didn’t seem that excited by the Sony Move, it doesn’t seem any better than Nintendo Wii. It seems like Sony are just trying to play catchup, as PlayStation 3 sales lag Nintendo Wii. There doesn’t seem to have been a real leap in motion gaming technology by Sony. Perhaps we will have to wait for Microsoft Xbox to do this.

To answer the question on the article “Applications for Magazines on Tablet PCs”, about whether tablet PCs are suitable for online games like poker. I don’t see why any of the proposed tablet PCs couldn’t be used to play online games. In fact the mobility could really enhance your gaming experience, as you can move to the couch and be more comfortable. The nice big screen should be able to display all the game’s functions.

Just as Apple CEO Steve Jobs was about to unveil the iPad, Hewlett-Packard snuck in first with an interview of their CTO Phil McKinney, talking about the HP Slate, developed jointly with Microsoft. Although HP did not say when the Slate tablet PC would be ready, he did say they had delayed producing it to ensure the price was affordable.
The iPad looks impressive, not sure that I would like to haul around, what is essentially a large iPhone. The iPad will be available in March, not too long too wait. Check out the video of Steve Jobs going through the functions of the iPad.
