David Hasselhoff is an international singing and acting sensation who has in the recent past been the subject of controversy due to his alcoholism. In 2007, Hasselhoff was famously videotaped by his own daughter, lying shirtless on a floor, drunkenly trying to inhale a hamburger. Taylor Ann Hasselhoff submitted the video to YouTube to shame her father into quitting drinking.

Hasselhoff and Alcohol
The intervention does not seem to have been successful as on May 3rd, Hasselhoff was rushed to the hospital with alleged alcohol poisoning and his Blood Alcohol Content was reported at nearly .40, meaning his blood was nearly 40 percent alcohol. By comparison, someone with a Blood Alcohol Content of .03 to .10 is usually considered intoxicated.
Thanksgiving Incident
Over Thanksgiving of 2009, which seems to have been a particularly troublesome weekend for celebrities, things got worse. A released 911 call reveals Hasselhoff’s other daughter Hayley telling the operator over tears “he’s standing up but he keeps falling back down.” Paramedics arrived at about 11:51 a.m. on Friday November27th to transport Hasselhoff to the hospital, where he was treated for two days. Unfortunately for the Hasselhoff children, their mother, Pamela Bach, seems to be no better role model when it comes to abuse of alcohol, as on the day immediately following Hasselhoff’s hospitalization, Ms. Bach was arrested on a DUI charge.
About David Hasselhoff.
Hasselhoff got his first big break in the ‘80s hit show Knight Rider, in which he starred as the hero, Michael Knight. After Knight Rider ended, Hasselhoff focused on his singing career, and became a big hit overseas, especially in Germany, where his single “Looking for Freedom” hit number one. He experienced a career resurgence with the international megahit Baywatch, a series about lifeguards patrolling the beaches of California, a show which launched the career of blonde bombshell Pamela Anderson. More recently, Hasselhoff has been seen as one of the regular judges on the British series “America’s Got Talent.”
Hasselhoff has gotten treatment for his alcoholism in the past, but whether this latest incident will inspire him to resume his quest for treatment is as of yet unknown.

Submitting a video of your drunk father to YouTube, must have created some interesting family dynamics and debate!
