So which do you think will be the better tablet PC, Apple’s iPad or HP’s Slate?
Which one would you buy? Vote in our online poll on our sidebar and let us know what you think.
Just as Apple CEO Steve Jobs was about to unveil the iPad, Hewlett-Packard snuck in first with an interview of their CTO Phil McKinney, talking about the HP Slate, developed jointly with Microsoft. Although HP did not say when the Slate tablet PC would be ready, he did say they had delayed producing it to ensure the price was affordable.
The iPad looks impressive, not sure that I would like to haul around, what is essentially a large iPhone. The iPad will be available in March, not too long too wait. Check out the video of Steve Jobs going through the functions of the iPad.

Hi,
I personally think that this iPad is a useless thing to buy! Really, it’s like a nice looking, shiny picture frame that you can touch, rotate, etc…for $500!

Come’on Mark its a little more than a shiny picture frame, whats wrong with you? You don’t like new gadgets? Not going to be rushing off to be the first one to own an iPad – disappointing…

I prefer the HP slate, where I can use all my Window programs and browse the Internet in a proper way.
There is no USB connectors on the IPad.
There is NO support for Flash on the IPad, and there is way too many websites that uses Flash. The Ipad does not multitask
As I see it, it is just a large IPhone
Looking forward to see the HP Slate.

Steve Jobs looks like he is out of a job. But then again I suppose someone in his position doesn’t really have to try hard to impress. I think he could have made a little more effort though.
