IKEA is brilliant! The whole concept from being able to choose from a wide range of good quality home products, taking home a compact box that can be easily transported in your car and then the ease of assembly in your home.  It makes carpentry so easy!  Everything actually fits together!

When I usually try making something nothing lines up, the sides dont match, the holes are in the wrong place… I am a walking carpentry disaster! But try telling your wife that you are not a carpenter, then they say lets go down to furniture store and bring your credit card whilst you are about it.

IKEA is affordable and makes carpentry quite enjoyable! Everything works and whats more, the instructions are in english, I can even follow them because they are simple, make sense and have pictures. When they say there are six screws in the packet, there really are six screws in the packet.  Scandinavian efficiency at its best, its brilliant.

So if you are a budding carpenter, but have never mastered the art of carpentry and if you need some new furniture… then I recommend visiting your nearest IKEA store and buying some big piece of furniture, just for the joy of putting it together.  Make your new hobby, shopping at IKEA and assembling furniture.
