Among the many amazing tourist attractions in the beautiful land of Kenya is the breathtaking Lake Bogoria, which is salty and is on The Great Rift Valley’s floor. Its main attracting factor is the Hot water springs and geysers, which spring from underground and feed the Lake with water. In addition, there are thousands of birds, the most significant being the beautiful pink and white flamingoes, which color the Lake’s shores brightly. There are also many species of insects, and other unique flora and fauna. The lake is located about 220km from Nairobi. A visit here while on your Kenya safari would be most valuable.

The climate in the lake’s environs is hot and wet while the vegetation principally comprises of shrubs, grasslands and riverine forests. It is however scattered in most areas. With this kind of climate, tourists will find it convenient to carry light clothes, which will provide comfort in the warm weather. However, if you decide on an overnight safari, then one warm clothes will come in handy during the night. It is also advisable to bring along some mosquito repellent, to keep the annoying insects at bay. The people around the Lake mainly engage in pastoralism, though beekeeping is also very widely practiced. Visitors will rarely leave here without carrying for themselves a jar or two of the wild and sweet honey.

The hot springs and geysers result from unbefitting heating of the magma near the earth come which forces the water outward. The main contrast between a geyser and hot water springs is that a geyser emerges with a lot of force and energy and being very noisy while a spring emerges quietly and much softly. The water emerges with a temperature of 98.5oC. The steam that emanates from the springs and geysers is said by the locals to heal certain skin diseases. Tourists can engage in fun activities such boiling eggs in the extremely hot water. This is done with nets with handles. The body remains of dead birds especially flamingoes are scattered all around and the deaths may pop up due to burns.

Further ahead in the near distance is an admirable range of ridges and they provide a spectacular spot to shoot movies in the wild. It is such a wonderful and lovely place to take memorable and unforgettable photos, to take home for precious memories. There are posh, luxurious and comfy lodges around, eminently notably being the Lake Bogoria Spa Resort. This would be a perfect place to have honeymoon in Kenya. The lodges provide specially cooked meals which are largely delicious, not forgetting enticing. They have comfy lounges, rooms and have verandahs where tourists can rest while enjoying the spectacular and breathtaking African sunset, amidst the singing of birds and smug evening breeze. There are also spas for manicures, pedicures, besides other beauty treatments.

When planning a holiday, you want a getaway that is fun, exciting, and unique. Many choose cruise holidays not just because they can travel to exotic locations, but also because half of the fun is getting there. One of the best places online to find great deals and information on these fun getaways is cruiseholidays.ie. Let’s take a deeper look at the site.

It’s true that when you go camping with your kids, you need to double your effort, time, and most of all, your patience in packing, planning, and preparing for the trip.
Yes, camping with kids seems a little more tiring and stressful than the usual camping trips when it was just you and your spouse. Aside from the thorough preparation, consideration of the kids’ needs take top priority, leaving little or no room for you and spouse’s.
Although the drawbacks may sound bad, as a parent you know that the rewards are priceless. The precious time that you are able to spend with your kids at the trip—playing, exploring nature, and doing camping activities are simply rewarding.
Because you love these little creatures so much, you don’t mind putting that extra effort to your camping trips because you know it won’t be memorable without them anyway.
But just to help you get by before they drive you crazy and you want to pull your hair out, here are some helpful tips for camping with kids:
1.Get the kids involved with the planning and preparation. Ask for their suggestions and ideas regarding camping activities and places to visit. For example, do they want to go hiking or fishing or both? Allow them to pack their own things while supervising them along the way.
All these things would make them see that you value their opinions and that you treat them as mature responsible adults. They are likely to act so because they would want to prove to you that they are.
1. Try backyard camping if it’s your kids’ first camping trip so they know what to expect and they won’t get homesick.
2. Elicit their help in setting up the campsite. Teach them how to pitch their own tents and ask them to help Mom with the cooking. No, they don’t need to chop and slice or boil water over the stove. They should only be involved with kid-friendly chores.
3. Teach them how to use camping equipment like compass and rain gear.
4. Do some campfire singing and story-telling.
5. Show them the wonders of nature by taking them into an environmental tour through a day hike. During the educational tour of acquainting them with the flora and fauna and the creatures that reside in the forest, be sure to incorporate valuable lessons on respect for nature.
6. Don’t forget to teach them how to keep themselves safe at the camp. No playing with fire and no swimming in the lake alone are just some of the many rules they have to be familiar about.
7. Create games out of camping chores to make them more fun and interesting. For example, engage them in a race for the fastest clean-up.
8. Do some bird watching.
9. Apply insect repellent and sunscreen on your kids.
10. Flashlights and glow sticks are nice companions during the night when your kids’ anxiety grows as night time falls.
11. Do some star-gazing.
12.Don’t forget to bring the very important first aid kit for small accidents or mishaps.
13. Have some night snacks. Not inside the tent of course. Before you go to sleep, a few chats and chips will surely be a great finale to a great day.
14. Bring toys that will make the camping even more fun. For instance, a kiddie magnifying glass will make exploring of insects even more interesting.
15.Make sure you capture these priceless moments by bringing a camera and ample film and batteries.
Family camping trips are a fun way to spend quality time with your children. Although it takes double the effort, just seeing the delight on their faces or hearing their squeals of laughter all make the trip worthwhile.
For more tips and information about tents, check out <http://www.bobsoutdoorstore.com/tents-shelters

Yachting is the ultimate form of vacationing. You live in luxurious comfort being pampered by a five star crew. You, as the “Charterer”, in essence, become the “Owner” of the yacht for the period of the charter. You determine the yacht’s itinerary, within the constraints of the law and safety as controlled by the Captain. You fix the menu with the assistance of your culinary trained Chef. There are over 2000 privately owned yachts in the world wide charter market. These yachts have the latest in marine technology, particularly in the area of communication and navigation. You will have access to the World Wide Web via satellite and will be able to connect to any on line service you use at home. Investigating the yacht charter market is done through dedicated yacht charter brokers who have access to the fleet via personal contacts, charter yacht data bases, and visiting charter yacht boat shows. These brokers are members of international professional associations, such as Charter Yacht Broker Association (CYBA), Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association (MYBA), Florida Yacht Brokers Association (FYBA), etc. who establish professional credentials and industry practices. To charter a yacht you must answer five questions: How many guests will be staying on board? When do you want to go? What type of yacht do you wish to charter, power or sail? Where do you want to go? What is your budget? The last question is critical as to finding the perfect yacht that meets your economic parameters. The yacht’s charter rate is only one element of the cost of chartering. Expenses can be as much as 50% increase over the charter rate for such items as fuel, food, beverage, port fees, taxes, and crew gratuity. There are yachts that fit budgets of $10,000 to $1,000,000 for a week’s charter. Contact a reliable charter broker to book your ultimate vacation of a lifetime.

Ukraine has become a trendy destination for tourists from all over the world. And this is not surprisingly: traveling to Ukraine is cheap, interesting and quite unusual for many people from Europe, US and many other countries. There are many attractive places for a foreign tourist in Ukraine, but this article presents five little-known Ukrainian towns for a tourist to enjoy.

Vylkove
Vylkove is a town located on Danube Delta near the Romanian border. The main part of the town is located on islands washed by small water channels. These channels are used as streets in Venice: you move your boat down the street standing on the stern of the boat with a big rod. Vylkove has a very rich and unique fauna. There are many kinds of birds, water animals and fish. The town is also famous by its drinks – unique herbal tea and homemade wine.

Nizhyn
Nizhyn is the most atmospheric and picturesque town in Central Ukraine. Nizhyn was untouched during World War II, so many old wooden houses have preserved there. The architecture is very unique. If you want to see how Ukrainian province looked like in XIX – the beginning of the XX Century – go to Nizhyn. It will take you a couple of hours by train or bus from Kyiv!

Baturyn
From the first sight Baturyn seems to be a small and unnoticed Ukrainian village. But it’s definitely not. Baturyn is a place where Ukrainian history has made a big turn. Ukrainian Presidents had invested a lot in restoring the historical places of Baturyn. You can see Baturyn Fortress there, Hetman Castle, park, many houses churches of those times. Since 1993 there is a State Historical and Cultural Reserve “The Hetmans Capital”. Apart from historical values Baturyn has many beautiful country-side hilly landscapes.

Korsun
When you stare at the fabulous views of Korsun, you may think: “Oh, I would be happy to live here!”. Nowadays Korsun is a perfect place for walking, sightseeing and green tourism. You should visit the Korsun State Historical and Cultural Reserve with palace complex, landscape park, museum of the history of the Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi Offensive, and the Lopukhins Castle. If you visit Korsun you’ll resuly enjoy great picturesque views of Ros river and beautiful sights of Central Ukraine.

Balaklava
Balaklava is a secret Soviet city hidden behind the rocks and washed by the sea. It has an outstanding history. Built by British intruders during the Crimean war, it was later closed and used as a military town with the top secrecy level. The mountains around the city are useful for coastal fortification and the deep and small bay is a great place for submarines. Nuclear weapons of USSR have been stored here. Also Balaklava is a lovely place to stay because of its mild weather and great seaside views. You can enjoy sightseeing here any season of the year.

Volcanic ash cloud has caused chaos in Europe with most internal flights being canceled and affecting long haul flights to and from European destinations. Passengers are stranded all over the world as the volcanic eruption in Iceland has caused tons of volcanic ash to be carried into the atmosphere, covering most of Europe and reaching all the way across the Atlantic to Canada (map below courtesy of BBC and the UK Met Office).

The shutdown of flights and airports by the volcanic ash cloud is costing the airline industry millions every day ($200 million a day). Apparently the volcanic ash can damage jet engines, the hot temperatures inside jet engines turns the ash or dust into damaging particles. Although now the airline companies are disputing the possible damage caused from volcanic ash and carrying out their own flight tests.

Who would think that a volcanic ash cloud in Iceland of all places could affect travel all over the world – And Iceland’s Eyjafjallajoekull volcano of all of them – just how do you pronounce that??? Can you imagine all the news presenters around the world practicing to say “Eyjafjallajoekull volcano”?

If you are traveling check out your airport’s websites or look at this great site for flight traffic over Europe – flightradar24.com – to help you avoid the volcanic ash cloud!

The Xenophobes Guides are a series of books describing the cultural differences between nations. I would recommend reading them if you are about to travel to a particular country and want to understand the local people better. Or if you are moving to a new country and want to be more aware of the culture and ways of the people.

Each guide is a short but insightful. They are written in a humorous way, straight to the point and irreverent, yet they are very helpful in explaining the behaviours of different cultural groups and their specific characteristics. Over 30 different countries are represented by the Xenophobe Guides and more are being added all the time.

I have just finished reading the Xenophobe’s Guide to the French and couldn’t stop laughing. Not that I have anything against the French, its just that I have lived in France, visited the country many times, I have French friends and still I do not understand them… until I read the Xenophobe guide.

The guide’s description of Xenophobia – an irrational fear of foreigners, probably justified, always understandable. And, a description of their own Guides – an irreverent look at the beliefs and foibles of nations, almost guaranteed to cure Xenophobia.

I like their motto – Farwarned is forearmed. If we understand people better then we can accept them.

Tokyo is a city that cannot be described: words don’t do justice to depict the amazing beauty and contrasts of the Japanese capital. Tokyo is in another universe and in another dimension of which you can only scratch the surface.
This is a memorable moment from my trip in Japan: rush hour on the Hachiko scramble crossing in Shibuya, Rokto; a true iconic symbol of the Japanese frantic and frenetic life.
Beyond words.
