Posted on 02 February 2011 by Daniel

MMA has become the worlds fastest growing sportas in the last five years or so. Along with
the growing popularity of the sport is the interest in MMA Training Workouts.

Many people who go to the gym have aspirations of becoming an MMA fighter, but have no
experienced coach or trainer to guide them. You need to make sure that you train under a
person who is a genuine MMA fighter or at least has hands on experience.

They are the right person to provide you with a good MMA training routine. With the growing
interest n the sport, you must be cautious of people who introduce themselves as an MMA fighter.

It takes more than watching a couple of dvds to be able to perform techniques and drills correctly.
Remember that MMA requires some of the most explosive movements in any sport.Be sure to choose a
trainer who has a lot of experience in training fighters if you wish to get the most out of your MMA training.

If you are limited by your finances or your location and find it hard to gain access to a good trainer then
there are a plethora of books and dvds available which you can use as a great guide.
MMA training programs are very physically demanding so you need to be very careful when undertaking one yourself without professional
supervision. If you must use MMA training videos, buy the ones of your favorite fighters, at least you know that
they know what they are talking about.

That is one major factor that an experienced trainer will be able to assist you with in your MMA Training workouts

Spanish F1 driver plays poker

Posted on 11 May 2010 by Daniel

Spanish F1 driver, Jaime Alguersuari, who drives for the Toro Rosso racing team, has become an ambassador for PartyPoker, an online poker room.  I guess when you think about it racing drivers are taking a gamble each time they drive, so they must be pretty used to the risk versus reward scenario. Even though driving an F1 car flat out, pulling huge G’s around a corner, must be a bit different to going all-in during a poker tourney.. Continue Reading

In a week’s time Afghanistan will play in their first cricket World Cup, a T20 competition in the West Indies.  The incredible rise of Afghanistan’s cricket team through the ranks to the centre stage of cricket has been nothing short of incredible.  One hopes that the fastest growing and most popular sport in Afghanistan can help give the nation hope.  Can sport help to heal wounds, forget war and bridge gaps?

Learnt in the refugee camps of Pakistan and now flying around the world to play against the best teams… stuff that dreams are made of…

Here is a very interesting video on the development of cricket in Afghanistan – “Proud to be an Afghan” and good reason to!

Champions League Semis – Barca vs Inter Milan

Posted on 20 April 2010 by Daniel

UEFA Champions League again tonight dont miss it, with Barca vs Inter Milan in the first leg of the semi-final – should be a cracking game! The FC Barcelona team had to travel 14 hours by bus to get to the San Siro.  Due to flight restrictions, because of the volcano ash cloud over Europe, which is not the best preparation for a big football game.  But Barca are not title holders for no reason.

Will Messi have another game like he did against Arsenal in the Champions League quarter finals?  Watch his four goals here… what a messi he made of Arsenal!!

New Tiger Woods Nike Ad

Posted on 13 April 2010 by Daniel

What do you make of the new Tiger Woods Nike ad?

The return of Tiger Woods to golf at the US Masters must have attracted media attention and boosted the number of television viewers watching golf. But what does the latest Tiger Woods Nike advertisement do for either the Nike brand or the Tiger Woods brand?  Well you could say that the Tiger Woods brand was already sullied, thats why the Nike ad needed the “clean” fatherly image and advice of Tiger’s father as the voice.  And, Nike, well they probably don’t care, the more controversy the better. As long as they get attention.

Is this what we have to get used to watching Tiger  staring back at us, whilst various family members do his endorsements for him?  Using his deceased father’s voice is going a bit far!

Just come out in the open, face up to your past, show you’re only human and talk Tiger.  Don’t just stare at us looking solemn and sullen.  People will forgive you and you will still be idolised, just be brave enough to face up to the public.

Phil Mickelson wins the Masters

Posted on 12 April 2010 by Daniel

Phil Mickelson won the 2010 Masters golf tournament for the third time, with a brilliant final round 67, to close out the third round leader Lee Westwood.  Tiger Woods was disappointed with his performance at Augusta, but given that it was his first appearance after a long lay off following all his personal problems & scandals, finishing 4th isn’t bad. Sex therapy obviously doesn’t affect your golf game too badly! Continue Reading

Bayern Munich Through, Man United Out

Posted on 08 April 2010 by Daniel

Bayern Munich are through to the semi-fianls of the UEFA Champions League, having knocked out Man United last night.  Finishing 4-4 on aggregate Bayern go through on scoring more away goals, even though Man U won 3-2.

Manchester United seemed to have the game wrapped up when they were leading 3-0, with Wayne Rooney making a recovery from injury and causing problems for the Bayern defence.  Bayern then made a strong recovery and the reduction of Man Utd to 10 men in the 50th minute, after Rafael received a second yellow card, for fouling Ribery, was telling.

Olic then scored for Bayern and all they needed was one more goal, which came from Arjen Robben.  With only 16 minutes left to play, Bayern managed to close out all Man United’s chances of another Champions League final.

With Arsenal also being knocked out, there are no more English teams left in the final stages of the 2010 Champions League.  Is this a bad sign of the state of English football and their form for the Soccer World Cup in South Africa?  Or will the England be able to shake off injury worries and come together to pose a threat at the FIFA World Cup 2010?

Messi blasts Arsenal out of Champions League

Posted on 07 April 2010 by Daniel

Lionel Messi the Argentinian striker playing for Barcelona, struck 4 goals last night against Arsenal to send them out of the Champions League. Even the Gunners coach Arsene Wenger was praising Messi at the end of the quarter final, saying that Messi is the best player in the world at the moment.

Tonight its Man Utd against Bayern Munich, the return leg will be played at Old Trafford, Manchester.  Its 2-1 to Bayern after the first leg, but Man U will have hope in one away goal.

Whichever team wins,  they will have to face Barcelona and Messi’s magic boot at the moment!

Inter Milan are through to the semis, and in tonight’s other game we see the French teams of Bordeaux and Lyon scrap it out, although Bordeaux are 3-1 down on aggregate, so they have an uphill battle to get through.
