Table talk. Betting with your small chips. Shaking hands. The list of common poker tells that experts claim are accurate, goes on and on.

Just how useful and accurate are these tells when you’re playing at a highly competitive level?

While it is true that these types of tells occur, their meanings may vary based on various contexts. For example, while shaking hands may indicate a very strong hand, it can also occur when a person is nervous and is attempting to bluff at the pot.

The reality is that there are no universal poker tells that apply consistently for everybody, except for unconscious, nonverbal cues called microexpressions.

What are microexpressions?

Microexpressions are facial expressions that last on the face for last less than ½ second: they occur when people are consciously or unconsciously trying to conceal or repress what they are feeling.

Most people report that they don’t see microexpressions, however research has shown that people can be taught to spot these relatively easily: with training, in about an hour.

Humintell’s training can help you:

* Spot real life, scientifically proven tells called microexpression

* Interpret nonverbal signals such as body posture, tone of voice, gestures and facial expressions

Did you know?

Facial expressions of emotion are universal- regardless of age, gender or ethnicity. Because they are universal, reading facial expressions of emotion does not require baselining other players at your table. Microexpressions can’t be faked or hidden and can occur on the face as fast as 1/16 of a second

Which product is right for me?

MiX 2 and MiX Elite are Humintell’s Advanced Microexpression Training Tools. The training features facial expression images from the frontal, profile and 3/4 side views, which are ideal for live poker players who play in full ring games.

You use a hookah pipe to smoke special tobacco (often called molasses or shisha). Every hookah has four main pieces:

The glass vase: This holds the water, usually made of glass but sometimes it’s plastic.

The hookah hose: Usually made from plastic or rubber, hoses come in a variety of modern or traditional stylings.

The bowl: These are made of ceramic, clay or metal. The head holds the tobacco and typically come in Egyptian, Phunnel, or modern styles.

The stem / pipe: This is the heart of the hookah and connects the bowl, vase and hose.

Some hookahs also have additional ports for either additional hoses or a “check valve.” The check valve lets you blow into the hose and exhaust the smoke in the vase. People do this when the tobacco gets hot or the smoke tastes burned.

Hookahs also usually come with a screen that covers the bowl and protects it from wind. It also protects the coal from falling off your pipe and getting all over everything. These are made of aluminum foil or reusable stainless steel. The final accessories that normally come with your pipe include tongs, for handling your coals and a poker for poking holes into the foil.

Hookah History

Hookahs have a deep, kind of ancient history. Initially created in India in the 1500s after the West introduced it to tobacco, they then spread to the Middle East via the Persian Empire. Immigrants from North Africa and Persia brought hookah to much of the West. This is especially true in diverse cities like London, Paris, and New York, but surprisingly it also holds for cities with dense Arab populations like Detroit and Los Angeles.

Hookah smoking is very popular today in Egypt, Turkey, and the Arabian Peninsula. There, the hookah has become a popular social activity along with tea and mezzies (small appetizers). Much like Westerners grab a beer after work, many people from these countries go grab a shisha. As a result, much of the shisha tobacco made today is still manufactured in Egypt and the Arabian Peninsula.

The West adapted the hookah to its own culture. Here, lounges with alcohol and various ethnic cuisines are growing popular. With the growth of shisha pipes in the West (especially the United States), the southern California region has become a huge center for many hookah related brands and businesses. New tobaccos like Starbuzz and Tangiers are considered the leaders and usually favored over tobaccos from the Mid East. There are also a lot of websites popping up where you can buy hookahs online.

Plus, the West has seen a rise in “non-traditional” designs of pipes, commonly called “Modern Hookah Pipes.” They take their cues from the usual pipe design, but then add modern or Western visual elements. In the US, the HoboHookah, high quality portable hookah was designed and embraced by young, mobile hookah smokers.

This is one of the testimonial by Emma Scottland which I really found that is so impressive about its services.

“We approached Valentino’s Displays with an urgent request to produce two active sports mannequins within a very short time frame. From initial contact to receipt of the products Antonio’s approach was very hands on and professional. We felt confident in the company’s ability to deliver what we’d asked of them and the quality of the product has surpassed our expectations. We very much appreciated the extra effort Antonio went to, organising speedy delivery for us which meant we were able to keep on schedule with our new product launch photography. I would have no hesitation in recommending Valentino’s Display – they will be our first point of contact for all future display requests”.

Valentino’s Displays Ltd offer Retail Display Equipment, Shop Fittings, Clothes Rails, Clothes Hangers and Mannequins Shop Display Equipment. They offer good quality of their products and services that leads to satisfied customers.

A joint NASA and Boeing team have completed the first phase of test flights of the X-48B plane, a blended wing body concept. The design is being tested as a potential airliner concept for the future. The blended wing body design uses part of the body of the aircraft for lift, the futuristic plane will be more fuel efficient and quieter than current airliners.

The X-48B plane is a model 8.5 % of the full size design and has a 21ft wing span – thats one serious model aircraft!

Flight testing has been successful despite the tailless design being difficult to fly at low speeds. An onboard computer helps the pilot maintain control of the plane. Data collected has helped to upgrade the onboard computer and a new prototype, the X-48C, is now being built to continue the testing and design of the blended body wing concept.

Future airliners will be able to carry hundreds of passengers in the wider body of the new design. Below is a picture created to show the possible future of airlines.

Flight X-48B You are cleared for take-off on runway 14...

IKEA is brilliant! The whole concept from being able to choose from a wide range of good quality home products, taking home a compact box that can be easily transported in your car and then the ease of assembly in your home. It makes carpentry so easy! Everything actually fits together!

When I usually try making something nothing lines up, the sides dont match, the holes are in the wrong place… I am a walking carpentry disaster! But try telling your wife that you are not a carpenter, then they say lets go down to furniture store and bring your credit card whilst you are about it.

IKEA is affordable and makes carpentry quite enjoyable! Everything works and whats more, the instructions are in english, I can even follow them because they are simple, make sense and have pictures. When they say there are six screws in the packet, there really are six screws in the packet. Scandinavian efficiency at its best, its brilliant.

So if you are a budding carpenter, but have never mastered the art of carpentry and if you need some new furniture… then I recommend visiting your nearest IKEA store and buying some big piece of furniture, just for the joy of putting it together. Make your new hobby, shopping at IKEA and assembling furniture.

114 Australian water skiers broke the world record for the most people water skiing. The boat, a huge catamaran, had to tow all of the water skiers for 1 nautical mile. The record was broken in Tasmania, Australia.

Click here to view the embedded video.

The previous waterskiing record was 100 people, achieved in Cairns, Queensland and has been held for 20 years! There have been a number of attempts in Tasmania, this year and finally they seem to have been successful. Although they are still awaiting final ratification from the world record authorities.

I love the quote from the guy on the boat, “Hang on you buggers!!”.

And a true Australian celebration at breaking the world water skiing record!
